Solution

Sustainable cleaning: Cedar Court Hotels wanted to focus on green and sustainable activities, with safer chemicals and reduced packaging.

Toucan Eco: The introduction of the Toucan Eco allow allows Cedar Court Hotels to create a disinfectant cleaning fluid on site, using natural ingredients and reducing packaging by 100%. The disinfectant is made from tap water and regular table salt via the process of electrolysis, which is certified to EN 14476, EN 16777, EN 1276 and EN 13697.

Cost control: A safe, effective, and sustainable cleaning product that could pay for itself within a reasonable timeframe, whilst offering long-term value, was required to minimise excess cleaning chemical costs.

Low in-use-cost: The investment in Toucan Eco paid for itself within 12 months, even during reduced business levels due to lockdown, as only table salt and tap water is required to create disinfectant. The system reduced cleaning chemical costs by 75%, achieving long-term savings, simplicity, and sustainability, aligning with the hotel’s green initiatives.

Bloated range of cleaning chemicals: To simplify the cleaning process, a simple and accessible cleaning system was required for the Cedar Court team that offers a solid cleaning process across all areas.

Multi-purpose cleaning: Using the Toucan Eco has led to a significant reduction in stock holding. Housekeeping trolleys now carry one multi-purpose cleaner bottle with easy refilling, saving time and resources, as opposed to a product for each specific challenge.

Industry-wide stock shortages: During the early stages of the pandemic, surface sanitisers were in short supply, creating challenges in maintaining hygiene standards.

In-house disinfectant production: Cedar Court installed the Toucan Eco Active and Toucan Eco Active Plus models at each site, producing 10 to 40 liters of disinfectant in less than 15 minutes. This ensured a steady supply of cleaning solution, reducing dependency on strained supply chains.
